UPTON UNITED 5 WAKEFIELD UNITED 0
Another great game for the lads as they have now guaranteed themselves promotion. Wakefield played a good game but Upton were applying the pressure all the way through. Every squad member got an outing in this game and all of them gave their best.Nathan Baxter scored 2 goals, Aaron Vernon got 2 goals and Jack Carter scored a beauty against which the goalkeeper had no chance.
Coaches Man of the match went to Matthew Warde
Parents man of the match went to Jake Hall
Upton United Vs Empire Colts
Upton 3 Empire 1
Upton United under 11's have taken yet another step towards holding onto their crown at the top of the league.
The first half Upton were on great form looking like a well oiled machine, they where certainly in control of the match, an early first goal came from an Aaron Vernon Penalty, with the second coming from Aidan Bainbridge, Kieren Kitchin headed the next one in to go 3-0 up at half time. In the 2nd half empire came out fighting and battled really well to put Upton under pressure all the time. At any point in the second half the game could have gone either way, especially after empire scored.
Upton United 1 Castleford Town 0
This was a crucial game for Upton in their campaign to extend their lead at the top of the table. Upton have now stepped up a gear in an effort to keep the top position in the league. This was a cracking game with all the lads playing some great football. At half time the score was 0-0 with b oth sides having had several shots at goal. In the 2nd half the 2 sides where still in deadlock untill Ben Pickin scored an absolutely fantastic goal from the halfway line about 10 mins from the end.It is my firm opinion that this goal must be the goal of the season. Castleford redoubled their efforts and put in plenty of shots at goalkeeper Aaron Nicholson who did a splendid job at saving them all. All in all a brilliant game with a fantastic result for Upton. Man of the match award went jointly to Ben Pickin & Aaron Nicholson
UPTON UNITED 4 HEMSWORTH MINERS WELFARE 1
This was a fast moving game with Hemsworth taking the lead in the first couple of minutes, Aaron Vernon equalised within another 2 minutes with a return to his best form. It looked like the game could have been anyones at this stage with both teams playing some great football then Kieren Kitchin put Upton into the lead. This seamed to spurr the lads on to move up a gear. Our next goal came from a brilliant long strike from Ryan Treaner, finaly Ryan added another goal to his tally to take the score to 4-1. It must be said that everyone played well, all the subs got a game and it was a great TEAM performance. Parents man of the match award went to Adam Brown for an outstanding performance in defence. A special thank you to Rich Elkin for doing a superb job as referee.
UPTON UNITED 1 PONTEFRACT St JOSEPHS 3
St Josephs took an early lead and by half time they had extended it to 2-0. Upton played well but things just would not come together for us. In the second half Aiden Bainbridge scored a superb goal for Upton putting us back in with a chance, however after one or two near misses we could not improve on this and then St Josephs sealed our fate with a 3rd goal.
UPTON UNITED 0 STANLEY UNITED 2
What a performance, or lack of it, a distinct lack of effort proving to be Uptons downfall. 1-0 down at half time we still had a fighting chance
but an unfortunate own goal in the 2nd half sealed Uptons fate.
